YWCA PASADENA TO HOST 3RD ANNUAL WOMENS LEADERSHIP & NETWORKING DAY

On Friday, May 2, 2014, the YWCA Pasadena-Foothill Valley will host its 3rd Annual Women’s Leadership and Networking Day.  This exciting event will be held at Twin Palms Restaurant & Lounge at 101 W. Green Street, Pasadena, CA 91105. This year's theme, Being Your Best Self: Courage to Follow Your Strengths and Passion focuses on tailoring your career and life to bring out the best in you.  Six guest speakers will share the wisdom and skills obtained on their journeys. This workshop gives women the opportunity network, share advice about various career fields, and further their professional and personal development through breakout activities, question and answer sessions, and unique presentations about career women.
 
Guest speakers include: Phlunte Riddle – Principal, Phlunte Riddle Group; Ursula Hyman - Partner, Latham & Watkins, LLP (Ret.); Melody Godfred - Founder, Write In Color; Rosemarie Pilpa, PhD - Biotechnologist & Patent Specialist; Michelle Martinez - Councilwoman, City of Santa Ana; and Lilli Cloud - Founder & President of Bluefeet Co. The event also features Susanne Whatley of KPCC 89.3 as emcee.
 
“We are thrilled to have such a diverse panel of successful, inspirational women participating at the event. The Women’s Leadership & Networking Day is open to all women at all stages of their professional lives - students, executives, and retirees,” said Sharalyn Hamilton, Executive Director of the YWCA Pasadena.
 
Tickets for the event are $85 ($95 after April 18th). Tickets include breakfast and lunch served by Twin Palms Restaurant. The event will run from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, with a networking mixer immediately to follow.
