Valley Economic Alliance Gala

 

 

 

 

The San Fernando Valley’s brightest stars took center stage at the 16th annual Valley of the Stars Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Clay Lacy Aviation at Van Nuys Airport.  Hosted by The Valley Economic

Alliance (VEA), the event celebrated leadership in arts and entertainment, business, education and humanitarianism. Guests

enjoyed a red carpet reception, followed by award presentations and dinner with NBC4’s weathercaster Fritz Coleman as master of ceremonies.

“With great pride, we honor individuals and organizations that have helped grow and strengthen our economy, improve the quality of life in our communities, and bring national recognition to the San Fernando Valley,” said VEA Chairman Martha Diaz Aszkenazy. 

The following recipients were honored with “Stars of the Valley” awards by category:

Business—Clay Lacy – Clay Lacy Aviation, legendary pilot and aviation executive, demonstrated significant contributions and extraordinary achievements to the aviation business community in the San Fernando Valley.

Community Leadership – Van Nuys Airport, world’s busiest general airport for 85 years as a valued resource that provides ongoing leadership in general aviation, business and community service.

 

Education - LAUSD North Valley Occupational Center-Aviation Center for providing a diverse population of students an affordable aviation mechanic training program that leads nearly 100% of their students to a higher paying job in the aviation industry.
